Actor Diego Loyzaga candidly reflected on some of the most defining moments of his life during a visit to Maddox Jewelry, where he sat down with host Charo Cordial for an intimate conversation about love, family, mental health, and personal growth.
One of the first stories Diego shared involved a pair of diamond earrings he once bought for a woman he deeply cared about.

According to the actor, the gift was never accepted because the woman reportedly preferred receiving a luxury handbag instead. The experience eventually led him back to Maddox Jewelry, where he decided to trade the earrings while browsing for an engagement ring and other jewelry pieces.
The conversation soon turned to his love life, with Charo asking who he considers his “the one that got away.”
Without hesitation, Diego admitted that the first person who came to mind was actress Sofia Andres.
“Kung may isang tao na gusto kong maayos sana ang nangyari, it would’ve been Sofia.”
He clarified, however, that there is another woman whom he personally considers his true “TOTGA,” although he chose not to reveal her identity.
Beyond romance, Diego also opened up about the expectations that came with being the son of veteran actors Cesar Montano and Teresa Loyzaga.
He admitted that he once felt pressured to prove himself in show business, but over time learned to stop allowing other people’s opinions to define him.
“I’m a good dad to my daughter. I’m a good son. I’m happy with what I’m doing.”
One of the interview’s most emotional moments came when Diego spoke about his struggles with depression during his younger years.
He revealed that he underwent rehabilitation after reaching a point where he contemplated ending his own life.
Instead of hiding that painful chapter, Diego said he now chooses to share his experience in the hope of encouraging others facing similar battles.
“Kung may makakausap akong dumaraan sa pinagdadaanan ko noon, masasabi kong kaya nating malagpasan ‘yan dahil napagdaanan ko rin.”
Today, Diego said his daughter serves as his greatest motivation and continues to inspire him to become a better father and person every day.
Despite the serious topics, the interview also featured lighthearted moments as Diego and Charo joked about engagement rings, the possibility of a special woman in his life, and his admitted shyness when it comes to TikTok trends and dancing.
By the end of the conversation, Diego left Maddox Jewelry with more than just new pieces of jewelry—he also walked away having shared a deeply personal story of heartbreak, healing, and hope, offering a glimpse into the man he has become beyond the spotlight.
