A Bacoor court has found actor Archie Alemania guilty of acts of lasciviousness in the criminal case filed against him by Kapuso actress Rita Daniela.

In its 21-page decision released on Friday, October 24, the court sentenced Alemania to imprisonment ranging from one month and one day to one year and one day. He was also ordered to pay ₱20,000 in civil indemnity and ₱20,000 in moral damages, with a 6% annual interest from the finality of the decision until fully paid.
The court ruled that Alemania’s own apology messages to Daniela were “analogous to voluntary admission,” validating her testimony about the assault.
“Based on the factual finding that the apology text of the accused referred to his actuations inside the car, he effectively admits his complicity which is analogous to voluntary admission that allowed the truthful prosecution of the case,” the court stated.
According to Daniela’s complaint, the incident happened after a Thanksgiving party on September 9, 2024, which both she and Alemania attended.
Daniela said that Alemania, whom she considered an older brother figure, offered her a ride home. During the drive, however, the actor allegedly made her feel uncomfortable by touching her shoulder and neck.
“I was confused [whether] he was just comforting me as an elder brother since I told him about what happened to my mother in our conversation inside his vehicle,” she said in her sworn statement.
When they reached her house, Daniela said Alemania “forcibly got hold of my head and locked it with his grip and gave me a torrid kiss on the lips with his tongue out, trying to put it inside my mouth.”
She said she managed to push him away and open the car door, but Alemania allegedly pulled her back to hug her tightly from behind and groped her breast.

Later that evening, Alemania texted Daniela to apologize, claiming he was drunk during the incident.
The actor denied the allegations, filing a counter-affidavit in December 2024 and pleading not guilty during his arraignment in April 2025.
Daniela’s legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, said they were satisfied with the court’s ruling.
“Of course, we are very happy with the decision. Rita fought and she attained justice. Thanks God,” the lawyer said in a statement to the media.
Daniela and Alemania previously worked together in the teleserye ‘Widows’ War.’
As of this writing, Alemania and his legal camp have not yet released a public statement regarding the court’s verdict.
