Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca has confirmed that his relationship with actress Chie Filomeno has come to an end, describing it as a “chapter” that has now closed — though he clarified there was no formal breakup.

“I can officially say that, that chapter of my life is over now,” Jake said in an interview shared by Ganiel Krishnan on X (formerly Twitter) on October 7.
Despite the separation, Jake spoke with deep respect and affection for his former partner.
“I might have had a lot of time to process everything and accept everything. For me, ‘pag mahal mo naman talaga ang isang tao, you wish them all the happiness in the world and you want them to be happy and you want them to be loved as well,” he said.
Jake and Chie first confirmed they were dating in 2023, to the delight of fans who had been following their chemistry both on- and off-screen. However, breakup rumors surfaced in September 2025 after eagle-eyed fans noticed that the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
The actor admitted that the past few weeks have been difficult but emphasized that he has come to terms with what happened.
“I loved that person deeply. It was incredibly important to me, but that chapter is over now and I have to accept it,” he said.
Currently, Jake is focused on his career, juggling multiple projects including ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’, ‘What Lies Beneath’, and his new film ‘Delivery Rider’.
“These past few months haven’t been easy kasi I’ve been working six days a week. There’s no time to be Jake. Uwi lang, pahinga, taping agad,” he shared.
Even with the emotional toll, Jake said he has found peace and strength through it all.
“I’m incredibly proud of myself because I handled the situation like a man. I didn’t make it difficult, I didn’t add gasoline to the fire,” he said. “I really gave a lot of importance to that relationship, so even in the end, I’d treat it properly as well.”
He ended by saying that the experience has allowed him to grow emotionally and personally.
“This is a better version of myself, believe it or not. I’ve had a lot of time to process everything and accept everything,” Jake concluded.
Neither Jake nor Chie has publicly addressed the alleged involvement of businessman Matthew Lhuillier, who has been rumored online as being connected to the breakup — claims that remain unconfirmed by both parties.
