Jessa Zaragoza and Vehnee Saturno reunite after 13 years for new heart-wrenching single ‘Ang Sakit Sakit’

CERTIFIED OPM hitmaker and Philippine music royalty, Jessa Zaragoza returns with a gripping new single that cuts deep and resonates even deeper — “Ang Sakit Sakit” — a collaboration with legendary Pinoy composer Vehnee Saturno, marking their first musical project together in 13 years.

With a legacy anchored by timeless classics like “Bakit Pa?,” “Di Ba’t Ikaw,”and “Paano Kaya,” among many others, Jessa has long been the voice behind the heartbreak anthems of generations of Filipino music lovers.

Her songs have become staples in Filipino households and karaoke nights, solidifying her status as one of OPM’s most beloved and enduring artists.

Now, with “Ang Sakit Sakit,” Jessa once again delivers an emotionally charged performance that harks back to her signature style — heartfelt, raw, and unmistakably hers.

The track is a powerful lament of love lost to betrayal — a painful realization of being strung along, only to discover that someone else had already taken your place in your lover’s heart.

Composed and produced by Vehnee Saturno, who also penned Jessa’s 2012 hit “Nasaan” (used as the theme song for the GMA-7 Koreanovela “Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit”), this new single revives a creative partnership that defined a generation of OPM ballads.

“’Ang Sakit Sakit’ is classic OPM heartbreak, brought to life with today’s sonic depth and emotional maturity,” says Jessa. “It reminds me of the pain in ‘Bakit Pa?’ — but this time, the hurt cuts from a deeper place.”

Distributed by Nine Degrees North, the song boasts an all-star production team including Bobby Velasco (arranger); Ardie de Guzman (guitars); Olúwatóbilóba “Tóbi” Samson Omójolà (drums); John Cruspero (vocal editor); Shadiel Chan (mixing); and Jan Fuertez (mastering).

Adding a layer of generational magic is Jessa’s daughter, Jayda Avanzado, whose involvement as vocal producer and backing vocalist brings a fresh yet familiar tone to the track — a true family affair predicated by great music.

“Ang Sakit Sakit” is now available on all digital streaming platforms, and its official lyric video is now live on Jessa Zaragoza’s official YouTube channel: Jessa Zaragoza.

“Reuniting with Tito Vehnee felt like picking up a powerful conversation after years of silence,” says Jessa. “This song is for everyone who’s ever loved too hard — and been hurt even harder.”

As Jessa Zaragoza reclaims her place in the current OPM scene, “Ang Sakit Sakit” is a striking reminder that true artistry endures — and the heart, no matter how scarred, can always sing again.
