Following the series of earthquakes that recently hit different parts of the Philippines, comedienne and singer Kakai Bautista took to social media to call on local government units (LGUs) to take immediate action and distribute Go Bags and emergency kits to their constituents.

In a strongly worded video posted on her Facebook page, Kakai directly addressed public officials, reminding them of their duty to serve—especially in times of crisis.
“’Yong mga bida-bida diyan noong eleksiyon, it’s your time to shine. Now is the time to serve the people dahil nag-serve na kami sa inyo noong eleksiyon,” Kakai said.
“Niluklok na namin kayo sa inyong mga posisyon. Kayong mga nasa LGU, munisipyo, ang mga namumuno sa bawat bayan at bawat city dito sa buong Pilipinas. This is not a request, it’s your job to serve the people. So mamigay na kayo ng mga Go Bag, mga emergency kit dahil Philippines is shaking,” she continued.
She further urged local leaders to be proactive and use their resources to prepare their communities for future disasters.
“Kailangan na nating maging handa kung anuman ang mangyayari sa Pilipinas. So, use this as an opportunity to serve the people, it’s your time to shine,” Kakai added.
A few days later, the comedienne lauded Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto after learning that the city had already launched an Emergency Go Bag Program for residents.
Reposting a video that showed the bag’s contents—including a first-aid kit, flashlight, and a disaster-preparedness guide—Kakai praised the initiative, writing: “Nakakainggit ang PASIG! Bakit si Mayor Vico lang ang nakaisip nito? Sa edad kong 47, meron bang ni isang pulitiko bukod kay Vico ang nakaisip na magbigay ng emergency go bag sa bawat Pilipino na nasasakupan nila?”
She then challenged other local leaders to follow suit.
“Sige nga, ngayon kayo magmagaling. Maglabas kayo ng pondo para dito. Magbigay din kayo ng libreng Go Bag sa lahat ng pamilyang Pilipino—’yung pang-baha at pang-lindol,” she said.
Netizens quickly echoed her sentiments, with many expressing support for her call and admiration for Pasig’s preparedness program.
Kakai’s latest statement comes shortly after her viral post about her trip to Vietnam, where she reflected on how citizens’ taxes there are visibly put to good use—a sharp contrast, she noted, to the situation in the Philippines.
