Comedienne Pokwang set the record straight after fans of ‘Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11’ Grand Winner Fyang Smith accused her of bashing the rising star.

In her guest appearance on the online talk show ‘The Issue Is You’ hosted by Ogie Diaz and Inah Evans, Pokwang clarified that her previous remarks were meant as friendly advice, not an attack.
“Hindi ako galit kay Fyang. Galit ako the way i-handle nung mga fans niya ‘yung payo na binibigay,” Pokwang explained. “Gusto mo palang bigyan ng payo, bakit mo dinaan sa social media? Saan ba siya na-ano, hindi ba sa social media din?”
The controversy began when Pokwang earlier reminded Fyang to stay humble after her PBB win. In her now-viral post, she wrote:
“My God iha, 21 years na ako sa showbiz at ang sekreto, BE HUMBLE iha. ‘Yan muna ang pag-aralan. Naka-ilang PBB season na ang nasaksihan ko pero iilan nalang silang active sa showbiz. So iha please wag muna magyabang, bad ‘yan.”
The post drew mixed reactions from Fyang’s fans, with some criticizing Pokwang and even dragging her daughter Malia into the discussion—something that didn’t sit well with the seasoned comedienne.

Despite the backlash, Pokwang insisted she holds no ill will toward Fyang and only wishes to guide new artists in the industry.
She also offered broader advice to newcomers in showbiz, stressing the importance of humility and good character.
“Kasi ngayon, ang pag-aartista, taon-taon may bago. Taon-taon may reality show. Every month may bago nang bago,” she said. “Pero ‘yung maiiwan, ‘yung ugali mo sa katrabaho mo sa industriya—iyon ‘yung magpapahaba para manatili ka dito.”
Pokwang further reflected on how fame has evolved in the age of social media.
“Tayo nalang ‘yung henerasyon na old school—hindi galing sa social media. Talagang hinubog natin ‘yung career natin. Pero ngayon, sikat ka this year, next year may bago na namang reality show, may bagong mananalo,” she noted.
The actress ended her statement by reiterating her message: “Wala akong galit kay Fyang.”
