‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’ returns this December with a darker, more explosive season 2

The long wait for the second season of the global hit ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’ is almost over.

After dominating audiences in the Philippines and earning a massive international following in Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, and more, the viral campus drama returns this December with its much-anticipated sequel, ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E: The Dark Side.’

The first season ended in April with a dramatic kiss between Jay-Jay (Ashtine Olviga) and Keifer (Andres Muhlach), but the supposed “happy ending” quickly turned complicated—Jay-Jay remains engaged to Yuri (Rabin Angeles), Keifer’s best friend. With emotions and loyalties in disarray, the sequel promises an even more intense storyline.

Based on the Wattpad phenomenon with 315 million reads by Lara Flores (Eatmore2behappy), Season 2 is directed by multi-awarded filmmaker Petersen Vargas, known for mainstream hits like Un/Happy For You and A Very Good Girl, as well as acclaimed films Sometimes I Feel Like Walking, An Inconvenient Love, Hello Stranger, and 2 Cool 2 Be 4Gotten.

Classes resume at Higher Value International School with Jay-Jay finally feeling at home in Section E. Her connection with Keifer deepens, but his sudden disappearance to deal with family matters leaves her confused and conflicted. Meanwhile, Yuri grows more determined to marry her—setting the stage for a love triangle spiraling into emotional turmoil.

Just when things seem complicated enough, new characters arrive to push the story into darker territory:

Rhen Escaño as Honey Bee Ryder

A stunning woman who threatens Jay-Jay and Keifer’s romance—yet finds unexpected comfort in Percy (JD Axie).

TANEO (Alamat) as Ryosuke Sato

Heir to a powerful Yakuza family, entangled in a long-standing feud with Yuri and set on targeting Jay-Jay.

Austin Dizon as Jason

A gang leader and Keifer’s nemesis who plans to use Jay-Jay as leverage.

Joko Diaz as Kaizer Watson

Keifer’s estranged father who wants full control of the Watson Company.

Nathalie Hart as Serina Watson

Keifer’s mother, holding the key to long-buried family secrets.

Billy Villeta as Dylan

Kaizer’s bodyguard and hitman, who may not be as ruthless as he seems.

Jeffrey Hidalgo as Andy Estrada

Jay-Jay’s new stepfather, whose presence she resents.

Joonee Gamboa as Headmaster

The Hanamitchi Clan leader who disapproves of Jay-Jay.

Ivan Padilla as Atty. Brian Ryder

Honey Bee’s uncle and Keifer’s lawyer, tasked with securing his inheritance.

The new season also brings back fan favorites from the vibrant Viva roster, including Andre Yllana, Charles Law, Heart Ryan, Frost Sandoval, Sara Joe, Kurt Delos Reyes, Ethan David, Rafa Victorino, Keagan De Jesus, Angela Muji, Yanyan De Jesus, Sam Shoaf, Martin Venegas, AJ Ferrer, Michael Keith, Daniel Ong, Nic Galvez, Derick Ong, Kyosu Guinto, Axel Torres, Alex Payan, Zeke Polina, Jastine Lim, and more.

The second season consists of 18 episodes, split into two parts:

  • Part 1 (9 episodes): Premieres December 4, 2025
  • Part 2 (final 9 episodes): Returns June 11, 2026

A special primer will drop on November 26, 2025.

Fans can expect intensified romance from Andres and Ashtine, unexpected twists from Rabin, and a season packed with revelations, betrayals, and emotional chaos—all unfolding in “Ang Mutya ng Section E: The Dark Side.”

Stream it exclusively on Viva One.
