Actress and humanitarian Angel Locsin has once again used her platform to express concern for Filipinos affected by calamities — this time following the widespread flooding in Cebu caused by Typhoon Tino.

In a rare social media post on X (formerly Twitter), the real-life ‘Darna’ voiced her sympathy for the affected families while also questioning whether the tragedy could have been prevented.
“Not another one. Hoping everyone in Cebu is safe,” Angel wrote. “Are we all thinking the same — is it just because of the rain, or because something could’ve been done to prevent it?”
She also urged local authorities to investigate the cause of the flooding to avoid similar incidents in the future.
“Hope authorities look into this as well so it doesn’t happen again. Wishing our kababayans a quick recovery and safer days ahead,” she added.
Locsin’s post included an aerial photo showing submerged houses and streets in parts of Cebu that had been heavily hit by the floods.
The actress, who has been inactive in showbiz in recent years, remains admired for her consistent involvement in humanitarian causes. During previous natural disasters, she was known for personally volunteering in relief efforts — a trait that earned her the nickname “Real-Life Darna.”
Her latest post sparked strong reactions from netizens, many echoing her sentiments and calling for government accountability and sustainable flood management.
“Although feeling ko preventable, Mother Nature is just too unpredictable these days. Pero I think a science-based flood mitigation plan might have still helped,” one netizen commented.
Others expressed frustration over alleged corruption and poor environmental planning: “They cleared the forests in the mountains — it was inevitable,” one user noted.
Several fans also took the opportunity to express how much they missed seeing the Kapamilya star.
“Magpakita ka na, Angel! Kailangan ng mga kababayan natin ang isang real-life Darna!” one fan wrote.
Despite staying away from the limelight, Angel Locsin continues to be a powerful voice for empathy, accountability, and social responsibility — proving once again that being a hero doesn’t always require a cape.
