Actor Dennis Trillo has joined fellow celebrities in expressing outrage over the alleged misuse of public funds amid the devastation caused by Typhoon Tino in the Visayas region.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, November 6, the Kapuso drama king lamented how taxpayers’ money is seemingly being wasted through corruption, saying it would have been better spent on charitable causes that directly help Filipinos in need.
“Sana dinonate nalang natin yung mga binayad nating tax,” Trillo wrote.
In a separate post, the award-winning actor — who is married to Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado — shared photos showing the aftermath of the typhoon in Cebu. The images contained the phrase, “This is nature reminding us na wala pa ding nakukulong.” Trillo captioned the post simply with, “Ano na?”
His short but pointed remarks resonated strongly online, with netizens flooding the comments section to express both frustration and agreement. Many echoed his sentiments about corruption and accountability in government spending.
Trillo’s post comes amid widespread public anger following reports of irregularities in flood control projects linked to alleged “kickbacks” and ghost contracts under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The actor joins a growing list of celebrities speaking out against corruption, including Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Edu Manzano, Sophia Laforteza, Kim Chiu, and Paulo Avelino. Meanwhile, Andrea Brillantes, Maris Racal, Catriona Gray, Gabbi Garcia, and Khalil Ramos have taken their protests to the streets, joining anti-corruption rallies in Manila and Quezon City last September.
