Monde Nissin Corporation, through its KaSulong sustainability agenda, partnered with Haribon Foundation, the Philippines’ pioneer environmental conservation NGO with over 50 years of impact, to advance large-scale forest restoration efforts under the Forests for Life Movement.
On the slopes of Mt. Batong Suso in Brgy. Sto. Niño, Tanay, Rizal, Monde Nissin volunteers planted seedlings with Haribon and the community to help restore Philippine forestlands.
Since 2005, Haribon and its partners have planted more than 1,054,000 seedlings, restoring over 22,800 hectares of forest with a survival rate above 96 percent. By contributing to this long-term, science-based program, Monde Nissin helps protect biodiversity, mitigate climate change, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities.
During the activity in Tanay, Rizal, and Zambales, native tree species such as narra, molave, and antipolo were planted in priority biodiversity areas. Each participant planted 15 to 25 seedlings, complementing the guided treks, hands-on training, and community learning sessions that highlighted how native trees sustain life, regulate climate, and reduce disaster risks. The event also reinforced Monde Nissin’s broader sustainability journey by tying corporate initiatives with grassroots conservation efforts.
Monde Nissin and Haribon Foundation came together with the community at Mt. Batong Suso to plant seedlings and strengthen their shared commitment to sustainability and a greener future.
“Our KaSulong agenda represents our commitment to creating lasting impact for future generations,” said Atty. Olive Misa, Corporate and Government Affairs Head at Monde Nissin. “Through our partnership with Haribon Foundation, we are not just planting trees. We are investing in ecosystem restoration, supporting local livelihoods, and showing how corporate-community collaboration can drive meaningful environmental stewardship.”
With hands on the soil, Monde Nissin volunteers prepared seedlings for growth in support of Haribon’s forest restoration efforts in Tanay, Rizal.
Moving forward, Monde Nissin will continue advancing its KaSulong agenda through partnerships that protect biodiversity, restore ecosystems, and inspire collective action while directly supporting the company’s north star sustainability targets.
