Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino once again had fans screaming in kilig as they shared playful and candid moments during the media conference of their newest Prime Video series, ‘The Alibi’ — including a lighthearted exchange about honesty and “alibis” in real life.

When asked if they had ever made excuses or “nag-alibi” to each other, Kim giggled as she admitted that her white lies were more about snacks than secrets.
“Mahilig kasi ako sa chichirya,” Kim confessed with a laugh. “Minsan bini-breakfast ko pa! Pero sabi niya sa akin, ‘Ang laki ng tiyan mo, kaka-chichirya mo ’yan!’ So minsan, nag-alibi ako. Sabi ko, ‘Hindi ako kumain!’ Pero ayun, nahuli kasi may chichirya sa tabi ko at may crumbs pa sa kuko ko! Hahaha!”
Her playful story sent everyone laughing, including Paulo, who couldn’t help but tease her back.
“At saka ’pag late ka, ang dami mong alibi!” Paulo said, earning a burst of laughter from the press — and a mock protest from Kim.
“OA! Hahaha! Pag-usapan natin ’yan!” she replied, lightly hitting his arm while laughing.
When it was Paulo’s turn to answer, the actor drew even louder cheers with his response.
“Ako, wala akong ina-alibi kay Kim,” he said seriously. “Kasi puro katotohanan lang ang sinasabi ko.”
The room erupted in squeals as Kim dramatically stood up, pretending to end the interview.
“Halaaaa! Thank you po! Please watch The Alibi!” she joked — though her flushed cheeks betrayed how kilig she really was.
Paulo added that in both his personal and professional life, honesty has always been his guiding principle.
“Whether in a good way or kung may mali ako, sinasabi ko. I’ll always admit it,” he said.
Fans were quick to flood social media with clips of the exchange, calling the duo “too real” and praising their effortless chemistry both on and off-screen.
Kim and Paulo, collectively known as KimPau, are set to star in ‘The Alibi’ — a steamy mystery-romance thriller about love, deceit, and second chances.
Kim plays Stella, a struggling escort hired to act as the alibi of Vincent, played by Paulo, who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case involving his rival, Walter (Sam Milby). As their fates intertwine, both characters find themselves torn between truth and survival.
“This is our boldest collaboration yet,” Paulo said in an earlier interview. “It’s not just daring — it’s emotionally heavy and morally complex. That’s what makes it interesting.”

Directed by Onat Diaz, Jojo Saguin, and FM Reyes under Dreamscape Entertainment, the series also stars John Arcilla, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Sofia Andres, Rafael Rosell, and Irma Adlawan.
‘The Alibi’ premieres November 7 on Prime Video, with new episodes released every Friday in over 240 countries and territories. (with reports from Aldrine Benitez)
