A Night of OPM Excellence

Organized by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI), the Meralco Theater transformed into an all-out festivity of OPM featuring dynamic performances from top acts including Ben&Ben, Lola Amour, Over October, BINI, and Dionela, and also recognized the institutional names and upcoming talent in the Filipino music industry.

The industry’s biggest honors – the Grand Awards – went to:
Album of the Year: The Traveller Across Dimensions by Ben&Ben
Song of the Year: “Misteryoso” by Cup of Joe
Record of the Year: “Namimiss Ko Na” by Lola Amour

Beloved Pinoy pop and OPM acts also dominated key categories: BINI bagged multiple accolades, including People’s Voice Favorite Group Artist, People’s Voice Favorite Album (Talaarawan), and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Salamin, Salamin,” while their fandom, BLOOMS, received the Vibe Stan Award. SB19 were also honored across several categories, including Best Global Collaboration Recording for “Moonlight,” Best Rap/Hip-Hop Recording and Best Music Video for “Kalakal,” and People’s Voice Breakthrough Artist for SB19 member, Stell.

The most prestigious Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino Award was presented to Ely Buendia for his enduring impact as one of the pillars of contemporary Filipino music.

PlayTime’s PHP1 Million Commitment to Alagang Kapatid Foundation

Amid the star-studded ceremony, special attention was given to the affected communities of the recent typhoons that hit the country, highlighting the urgent need for solidarity and support to assist in the relief and recovery efforts. Other than a partner in championing Filipino music, PlayTime also announced its PHP1 million pledge to Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI) to assist in community aid and long-term empowerment endeavors, which include disaster response, livelihood, and community-building projects under the “Tulong Mga Kapatid” banner and AKFI’s broader social programs.

“We at PlayTime believe that the power of music has always told the real stories of Filipino life – our hopes, heartbreaks, and resilience,” said Krizia Cortez, Director of Public Relations of PlayTime. “We recognize that entertainment must go hand-in-hand with empathy, empowerment, and a vision for a better Philippines. As a brand with a primary mission of championing Filipino entertainment, our support for the Awit Awards and our PHP1 million commitment to Alagang Kapatid Foundation honor the Filipino artists who shape our culture and the communities who inspire it. A We stand behind our artists, our people, and the vision of a more empowered Filipino nation.”

This contribution builds on the continuing collaboration between PlayTime CARES, PlayTime’s corporate social responsibility arm, and AKFI’s long-standing work in relief operations, rehabilitation, and on-the-ground support for vulnerable communities—demonstrating PlayTime’s dedication to entertainment that empowers and uplifts.

Entertainment with a Purpose

The 38th Awit Awards put the spotlight on connection and community. It was more than just a night of trophies and performances – more importantly, it underscored OPM’s power as a cultural force that unites generations, communities, and individuals.

PlayTime’s support and pledge are a testament to its vision of revolutionizing entertainment as a driver of national pride and positive change. By elevating Filipino talent, reinvesting in communities, and supporting initiatives rooted in culture, creativity, and social impact through PlayTime CARES and partners like Alagang Kapatid Foundation, PlayTime continues to be a champion of the enduring value of Filipino entertainment for all—empowering a legacy that inspires future generations.
