Comedienne and TV host Tuesday Vargas expressed deep concern and sorrow following the deaths of freelance model Gina Lima and her former boyfriend Ivan Cesar Ronquillo, whose cases became the subject of intense online speculation and misinformation.

In a Facebook post, Tuesday—who previously opened up about her own struggles with mental health—said the situation affected her greatly as a parent of a child around the same age as the two.
“Kahit mahalin at arugain natin ang ating mga anak, ang lipunan na malupit paglabas nila ng ating tahanan ang siyang literal na papatay sa kanila,” she wrote.
Tuesday urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information, especially accusations directed at individuals involved in sensitive incidents such as the deaths of Lima and Ronquillo.
“Utang na loob po, huwag magpakalat ng hindi totoong mga bagay lalo na kung lubha itong mapang-akusa sa mga nabanggit,” she said, warning that such behavior worsens the burden on grieving families.
The actress also defended today’s youth from labels that they are “weak” or easily “give up,” stressing that young people face heavier pressures in the digital age.
“Hindi sila mahina — mabigat ang mundo nila,” she emphasized, adding that the harsh words from netizens can be emotionally damaging.
She criticized the public tendency to form conclusions online before official findings are released.
“Hindi pa man napapatunayan, eh sa court of public opinion ay para n’yo na silang hinatulan,” Tuesday said.
Ending her message, Tuesday encouraged the public to choose kindness.
“If you can be anything in this world, be kind,” she wrote, while extending sympathy to both grieving families.
“My sincere condolences to the families of Gina and Ivan. May your souls find eternal rest.”
Meanwhile, social media personality Valentine Rosales announced he will temporarily withdraw from online platforms after facing backlash for posts accusing Ivan Ronquillo of harming Lima.
The Quezon City Police District’s autopsy report later clarified that Lima did not die from physical assault, and that the bruises found on her legs were consistent with being carried on the way to the hospital.
Rosales has since apologized for his earlier statements, saying he reacted emotionally and would take a break from social media on the advice of his psychiatrist.
