Fresh from promoting his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry ‘Manila’s Finest’, actor Enrique Gil candidly confirmed that he is currently single — and may be ready to find love again in the coming year.

During the Q&A session held in Quezon City on Friday, Enrique was asked whether someone new is making him kilig or if he is courting anyone. The actor didn’t hesitate to give an honest answer.
“Ah ngayon? Wala nga eh. We’ll see, we’ll see,” he said.
But fans of the Kapamilya heartthrob shouldn’t worry — Enrique hinted he’s open to romance soon.
“Hopefully ngayong 2026, maybe? I don’t know, when it comes, it comes. I’m just open,” he shared.
Enrique and actress Liza Soberano were together for nearly a decade before parting ways. In August 2025, Liza revealed that they had actually separated in October 2022, choosing to keep the breakup private for almost three years.
Single or not, Enrique is far from idle as he returns to action through the star-studded historical drama Manila’s Finest, one of the official entries to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival.

He stars alongside Piolo Pascual, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Ashtine Olviga, Cedrick Juan, and other notable actors.
Co-star Ashtine Olviga shared her admiration for their lead actor: “Na-star struck ako kay Sir Piolo. Ang dami ko din natutunan sa kanya. Previous ginagawa ko ‘di ko kaya panoorin mga take. Si Sir Piolo every take papanuorin niya, hindi para makita sarili niya, para i-match continuity,” she said.
Cedrick Juan also described the unique challenge of filming a period piece: “Iba ‘yung pakiramdam, ‘yung setting ay pre-martial law. I really had to study about the Philippine Constabulary,” he noted.
‘Manila’s Finest’ is set during the pre-martial law era and promises gripping action, drama, and historical depth. The film will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting Christmas Day, December 25, as part of MMFF 2025. (with reports from Aldrine Benitez)
