During our three-day stay at Mandarin Bay Resort and Spa in Boracay, the media and content creator guests—including us from LionhearTV—were treated to a culinary journey across the resort’s signature dining outlets: La Fiesta and Mamma Mia Ristorante Italiano.
From festive Filipino feasts to comforting Italian fare, each meal was a celebration of flavor, detail, and hospitality.

La Fiesta. Located beachfront in Station 2, La Fiesta lives up to its name—capturing the warmth, festivity, and communal spirit of a Filipino celebration. The restaurant is spacious, inviting, and often accompanied by live acoustic music that elevates the ambiance without overwhelming the dining experience.
We had the pleasure of enjoying two breakfast buffets and one lunch buffet at La Fiesta. The selections were generous, and while not overwhelming in number, the quality of each dish was consistently excellent. Highlights included the fresh seafood spread—particularly the tuna and salmon sashimi—the tender prime rib, and flavorful local dishes like tinapa rice, which gave a delicious twist to the classic Filipino breakfast.
For dessert lovers, the halo-halo station, house-made ice cream, and mini pastries were definite crowd-pleasers. While some may note a smaller range of dishes compared to larger buffet chains, what La Fiesta may lack in quantity, it more than makes up for in quality, taste, and presentation.
The service was equally noteworthy—staff were warm, accommodating, and always ready to assist with a smile. It’s this level of attentiveness that completes the five-star dining experience.
Pro tip: Visit during the dinner buffet (6:00 PM – 10:00 PM) to enjoy the full spread alongside live acoustic music (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM). It’s the perfect way to end your day in Boracay.
Mamma Mia Ristorante Italiano. Tucked inside Mandarin Bay Resort—slightly hidden from the main beachfront—Mamma Mia Ristorante Italiano offers an entirely different but equally delightful experience. Swapping sea views for the peaceful setting of the island’s longest pool, this charming trattoria delivers hearty Italian meals in a cozy, rustic space.

We dined here for one special dinner service, and the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the restaurant’s warm and welcoming staff. Mamma Mia is known for its exceptional service, and it’s easy to see why—everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food.
The menu focuses on handmade pizza and pasta, with sauces and dough crafted in-house. We especially loved the carbonara, truffle pasta, and of course, their signature wood-fired pizzas—crisp, chewy, and loaded with flavor. While we didn’t get to try the popular Little Pizzaiolo experience (where guests build their own pizzas), it’s easy to see why families and groups would love that interactive touch.
Another standout? The house-baked bread served warm at the start of the meal, and the gelato at the end—simple, satisfying, and authentic. Even without an Italian chef in the kitchen, Mamma Mia has found a loyal following, including Italians themselves, which says a lot.
LionhearTV‘s Verdict. Dining at Mandarin Bay Resort and Spa wasn’t just about filling our stomachs—it was a full-on sensory experience. Each meal felt intentional and well-executed, whether it was a breakfast by the beach or a candlelit Italian dinner by the pool.
La Fiesta delivers comfort and festivity, the kind that brings people together over a shared love for food. Meanwhile, Mamma Mia offers a slower, more intimate experience, where each dish is made with heart and patience.
Whether you’re staying at the resort or simply visiting Boracay and looking for memorable meals, both dining spots are must-tries—each offering a different taste of paradise.
