Kapuso actress Kris Bernal admitted she is puzzled by the apparent cold treatment she has been receiving from her former on-screen partner Aljur Abrenica, revealing that she has no clear idea why the actor unfriended and unfollowed her on social media.

Bernal shared her thoughts during the recent media conference for ‘House of Lies’, the upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime drama set to premiere on January 19.
“Wala kaming communication. Ang alam ko, hindi kami magkagalit,” Bernal said, stressing that she was unaware of any conflict between them.
According to the actress, she made several attempts to reach out to Abrenica, particularly because she wanted to invite him as a guest on her YouTube channel.
“Basta ako, I tried naman na mag-reach out sa kanya. Pero, hindi ko alam kung bakit hindi niya ako sinasagot. Nagti-text ako, Viber sa kanya, pero wala talaga,” she shared.
Bernal added that she even contacted Abrenica’s brother, Vin Abrenica, to confirm if she still had the correct number.
“Nag-message pa ako sa brother niya, si Vin Abrenica, kung ’yun pa rin ang number ni Aljur. Pareho pa rin naman daw,” she said.
Despite her efforts, Bernal said she received no response and later noticed that Abrenica had unfollowed her on social media.
“Hindi ko alam kung ano ang nangyari. Napansin ko lang talaga na he started unfollowing me. Bakit? Ano ba ang nagawa ko?” she asked. “So, in-unfollow ko na rin siya.”
The actress said the only possible reason she could think of was a prank she once played on Abrenica during the pandemic.
“Nag-prank kasi ako sa YouTube ko, pero matagal na ’yon, pandemic pa ito. Niloko ko siya na buntis ako,” Bernal recalled.
She said Abrenica reacted with genuine concern at the time. “Isang oras kaming nag-usap noon… Genuine ang mga payo niya sa akin,” she added.
After revealing it was just a prank, Bernal said communication between them stopped. “After that, hindi na niya ako kinausap. So, baka ’yon,” she said, apologizing as well. “Pero sorry Aljur, hindi na kita ipa-prank. Matagal na rin naman ’yon.”
Meanwhile, Bernal is set to take on one of her most challenging roles yet in ‘House of Lies’, where she stars opposite Beauty Gonzalez. The series also features Mike Tan and Martin del Rosario, along with veteran and rising Kapuso stars.
Directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng, ‘House of Lies’ follows the story of two women whose pursuit of the perfect family and life leads to deception, rivalry, and dark secrets within a seemingly ideal household.
The series will air weekdays at 3:20 p.m. on GMA Network and will also be available to global viewers via GMA Pinoy TV.
