Actress AJ Raval opened up about her relationship with Aljur Abrenica, highlighting his values and sense of responsibility during her guest appearance on ‘Toni Talks’, hosted by Toni Gonzaga.
When asked what made her like Abrenica, Raval answered directly, “Ang kagandahan po kasi kay Aljur, ’yung values niya. Alam ko po maraming kokontra, pero very responsible po siya. He’s a good provider.”
The interview came after Raval revealed that she and Abrenica have three children together. She became emotional as she recalled the challenges they faced while keeping their relationship and children away from the public eye.
Explaining why they chose to hide their family life before, Raval said, “Siyempre maingay po nu’ng time na yun dahil po sa mga issue. Siyempre ayaw po namin madamay yung mga bata.”
She also clarified that there was no overlap with Abrenica’s previous relationship when they became a couple.
“Nag-start po kami ni Aljur malinis po talaga,” she said.
Asked how she dealt with the backlash and judgment, Raval shared, “Sa part naman na yun, Ms. Toni, alam kong wala akong ginawang masama. Kaya lumaban talaga ako. Paulit-ulit kong sinasabi na hindi ako. Alam ng Diyos na hindi ako. Wala akong kasalanan.”
She added that she eventually viewed her struggles as part of God’s plan, saying, “Naiisip ko nga, Ms. Toni, bakit nangyari sa akin yung mga ‘yun, kasi iyon ang plano sa akin ni Lord. Ito yung dapat kong pagdaanan.”
Raval explained that their decision to finally reveal their children was driven by their desire to live freely as a family.
“Kasi po, Ms. Toni, gusto na namin matapos magtago, gusto na naming maging malaya. Sa bahay po namin may pumupuntang tao na hindi ko kilala, gusto lang nila maka-capture ng picture sa mga bata. Gusto namin silang ipasyal, gusto namin silang bigyan ng malalaking birthday celebration.”
According to Raval, their situation has changed for the better since being open about their family.
“Mas carefree na po kami ngayon. May freedom na po kami. Wala nang kailangang itago.”
She ended by reiterating what she admires most about Abrenica, repeating her earlier statement: “Ang kagandahan po kasi kay Aljur yung values niya, alam kong maraming kokontra, pero very responsible po siya and he’s a good provider.”
