What began as an ordinary workday quickly turned into a life-changing moment for Nica Escobar. Like millions of Filipinos, she was simply browsing and checking out items on Lazada during the 11.11 Mega Sale, never expecting that a routine online purchase would lead to something far bigger.

“I was at work when I received the notification,” Escobar shared. “At first, I was surprised—and honestly, in disbelief. My instinct was to double-check if it was real.”

That notification would soon confirm her as the winner of the grand prize of Lazada’s 11.11 Mega Sale: a brand-new BYD Sealion 6 DM-i electric vehicle.

From Everyday Shopping to an Extraordinary Reward

For Escobar, the win felt almost surreal, not because she did anything extraordinary, but because she didn’t.

“I was just browsing a mobile app to buy gifts for my officemates,” she said. “From something so small and common like everyday shopping, it led to something big, something that can really change your life.”

The car, she shared, immediately transformed her daily routine. As someone who relies on ride-hailing services for her commute, owning a vehicle offers both convenience and long-term value. “It’s very helpful for me in many ways. It saves on daily transportation costs, and it’s also an asset for the future,” she said.

More than the prize itself, what stood out was the realization that these moments are real and possible.

“I used to think promos like this were too good to be true,” Escobar admitted. “But now I know it’s not impossible. Sometimes, good things really come when you least expect them.”

Escobar’s experience reflects how Lazada’s mega sales are built to reward participation in meaningful ways. For her, the platform is deeply embedded in daily life, from buying toiletries and groceries to shopping for gifts and home essentials.

“Lazada is already part of my everyday routine,” she said. “It saves me time, money, and effort. Everything is convenient, user-friendly, and designed with the consumers in mind.”

Escobar wasn’t alone in winning big during Lazada’s year-end shopping events. While 11.11 delivered an aspirational milestone, Lazada’s 12.12 Mega Sale rewarded another everyday shopper with a prize rooted in daily life: PHP 1.2 million worth of shopping credits, equivalent to PHP 100,000 in credits every month for an entire year.

For Imee Añonuevo, the moment she found out she had won came at home, in the most ordinary of ways. “We were just talking in my room when my son told me, ‘Nanalo ka sa Lazada,’” she recalled. “At first, I didn’t believe it. I kept asking what the prize was because I couldn’t imagine it was real.”

What made the win even more surprising was how it all began—with a simple purchase of a non-stick pan. “Sa simpleng kawali,” she said with a laugh. “Parang imposible. Hindi nga ako nananalo sa lotto, tapos dito pa.”

For Añonuevo, the one-year shopping spree carries immediate and meaningful impact. “Sobrang makakatulong talaga,” she shared. “Lalo na sa grocery, sa pang-araw-araw. Mga gamit ng mga bata, pang-school, ang daming pwedeng bilhin.”

Like many Filipino households, Lazada already plays a role in her routine. “Nag-i-scroll lang ako,” she said. “Tapos pag may nagustuhan, pinapa-order ko.” What began as casual browsing has now turned into a year of added support for everyday needs.

Looking back, Anonuevo admitted she never thought a win like this was possible. “Hindi ko talaga inaasahan,” she said. “Unexpected siya, but sobrang saya. Malaking tulong.”

Beyond Discounts, Toward Meaningful Impact

Together, the stories of Lazada’s 11.11 and 12.12 winners underscore a larger truth: mega sales aren’t just about flash discounts or vouchers. They’re about recognizing and rewarding the millions of shoppers who make Lazada part of their everyday lives.

For Escobar, the experience was more than a win—it was a reminder. “It’s truly unimaginable and life-changing,” she reflected. “It taught me to stay grateful for the small things and hopeful for what’s possible.”
