Actor-dancer Mark Herras has spoken out strongly after facing a wave of speculation and harsh commentary following his recent emotional video on social media.

Herras went viral earlier this month after posting a raw and deeply personal video on Instagram showing him crying, smoking, and walking alone at night. The post, captioned “Kulong sa Sistema ”, prompted concern from fans and fellow celebrities, many of whom sent messages of support.
However, days later, the actor expressed anger after some netizens and content creators allegedly twisted his post into narratives claiming he was crying because he had no work.
In a now-viral Facebook post, Herras firmly denied the claims and clarified that his breakdown had nothing to do with unemployment.
He went on to stress that he remains professionally active.
“May mga trabaho akong ginagawa, may show ako under GMA 7 at under BuenasPH.
The post quickly gained traction due to its blunt tone and unfiltered language.
Herras also directly replied to a netizen who criticized him for posting the emotional video publicly.
Prior to the backlash, the emotional post had drawn widespread concern and encouragement from colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Among those who reached out were Carla Abellana, who commented, “Kapit lang. Hindi ka nag-iisa.” Rocco Nacino wrote, “One day at a time brother… Other celebrities, including Sheena Halili, Kris Bernal, Rodjun Cruz, and Ryza Cenon, also sent messages of support.
Herras has long been candid about the ups and downs of his career. In recent years, he has faced public criticism, including “laos” remarks following changes in his showbiz contracts, and controversies linked to past professional and personal issues.
Despite these, the former ‘StarStruck’ grand winner has maintained that he continues to work, take on projects, and remain grateful for his journey in the industry.
As of writing, Herras has not elaborated further on the personal issue behind his emotional video, but his latest statements make one thing clear: he is drawing firm boundaries against what he calls the exploitation of his pain for online content.
