The World Wide Fund for Nature-Philippines (WWF-PH) will mark a historic milestone on March 28, 2026, as the global environmental movement celebrate its 20th Earth Hour switch-off, bringing communities together at Arco de Emperador in ArcoVia, Pasig City for the country’s return to a large-scale in-person Earth Hour celebration.
With Pasig City being the host city this year, the event will gather environmental conservation advocates, youth groups, and members of the public for an evening of community activities leading up to the symbolic Earth Hour lights switch-off at 8:30PM, joining millions of people around the world in the biggest hour for Earth.
For 20 years, Earth Hour has demonstrated how one hour can unit people globally for the planet. This year’s campaign encourages Filipinos to “Switch on Habits for Earth,” highlighting that the real impact happens beyond the hour—through everyday choices that support a more sustainable future.
“For two decades, Earth Hour has shown how powerful one hour can be in bringing people together for the planet. But the real work happens after the lights go back on. Protecting nature is a choice we make every day through the habits we built and the actions we take,” said Atty. Angela Consuelo Ibay, National Director for Earth Hour Philippines.
A highlight of the celebration is the Earth Hour Youth Fair, which will feature booths hosted by youth organizations that aims to connect young people with opportunities to take action and provide concrete pathways to contribute to meaningful change for people and the planet.
Supporters can also take part in the Earth Hour Virtual Run, an initiative that encourages participants to stay active while supporting WWF-PH’s conservation efforts which will run from March 23 to April 30.
“Young people are key drivers of environmental action. Through these initiatives, we hope to inspire more people—especially the youth—to turn their passion for the planet into meaningful everyday actions,” shared Earth Hour National Ambassador Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski.
Since its launch in 2007, Earth Hour has grown into one of the world’s largest grassroots environmental movements, mobilizing millions of people across more than 190 countries and territories worldwide.
Earth Hour Philippines 2026 is made possible with the support of co-presenters ArcoVia City and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, and activation partner Sun Life Foundation. As the global movement celebrates its 20th year, WWF-PH once again invites Filipinos to participate by switching off their lights at 8:30PM on March 28, and committing to habits that help protect Earth every day.
