Actors Richard Gutierrez and Gerald Anderson expressed gratitude after their upcoming action series ‘Blood vs Duty’ was given the coveted 8:00 p.m. primetime slot, following a programming reshuffle that sparked backlash from fans of Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.

The controversy began after ‘The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan’, originally airing in the said timeslot, was moved to 8:45 p.m. less than a month after debuting. The shift disappointed “KimPau” fans, some of whom voiced their frustrations online and threatened to boycott the new series replacing it.
Despite the issue, both Gutierrez and Anderson maintained a positive outlook, focusing on the opportunity given to their project.
“We’re very thankful and grateful because nobody touched this time slot in a very long time. It’s such an honor for the whole team to be here. The stars are aligned for us to be here. It wasn’t a part of the plan but we ended up here,” Gutierrez said.
Anderson echoed the sentiment, emphasizing his belief in the project regardless of its placement.
“Sa sobrang naniniwala ako sa produkto kahit saan kami ilagay I’m very blessed just to be part of this project. Excited ako na maikwento namin ang mensahe ng kwento na ito,” he said.
‘Blood vs Duty’, which also features a powerhouse cast, received positive reactions during its special screening, with audiences applauding after the pilot episode presentation.

Meanwhile, Kim Chiu previously addressed the issue in a post on X, clarifying that their series was originally intended for the third primetime slot and only temporarily occupied the 8:00 p.m. schedule.
Following her explanation, many fans expressed continued support for Kim and Avelino despite the change in timeslot.
‘Blood vs Duty’ is set to premiere on April 6 at 8:00 p.m., while ‘The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan’ will air at 8:45 p.m. across ABS-CBN platforms.
