Bonchon ‘Snow Much to Love’ brings a Korean-inspired summer chill at SM Mall of Asia

A Korean-inspired summer experience unfolded on April 14, 2026, at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, where Bonchon Philippines introduced its newest campaign, Snow Much to Love, during an immersive media launch attended by guests, food enthusiasts, and brand representatives, featuring Managing Director Scott Tan and Bonchon’s newest summer pair—Snow Cheese Chikin and Caramel Snow Ice Coffee.

The SM Mall of Asia venue was transformed into a cool-toned summer escape despite the humid Manila heat outside. The space carried a playful “snow café” concept, echoing the idea of a refreshing break in the middle of a scorching season. From the moment guests stepped into the activation area, the contrast was immediate—warm air outside and chilled aesthetics and comfort-food aromas inside, setting the tone for Bonchon’s seasonal push.

At the center of the experience was the Snow Cheese Chikin, Bonchon’s signature double-fried Korean fried chicken reimagined for summer indulgence. The familiar crunch remained, but it was elevated with a rich dusting of cheesy powder that melted slightly upon contact, creating a layered, savory profile that leaned both comforting and addictive. Each bite balanced crisp texture with creamy saltiness, a deliberate twist designed to refresh a well-loved classic rather than replace it.

Paired alongside it was the Caramel Snow Ice Coffee, a visually striking beverage built for contrast against the savory dish. Smooth, milky, and lightly sweetened with caramel, the drink introduced a “snow ice” texture that softened the intensity of the coffee while enhancing its dessert-like quality. The combination was positioned as a duo meant for slow enjoyment—one bite, one sip, alternating between warmth and chill in flavor rather than temperature.

Guests also explored Bonchon’s supporting menu lineup, which expanded the Korean comfort theme beyond chicken and drinks. Items such as fried tteokbokki, fish cake fries, kimchi, and cheeseballs added variety to the tasting experience, creating a shared-table atmosphere reminiscent of casual Korean dining culture. Each item contributed to the idea that Bonchon’s summer offering was not a single product drop but a curated food experience.

During the presentation, Bonchon Philippines managing director Scott Tan emphasized the intent behind the launch, stating, “We’re constantly looking for ways to innovate and stay relevant to what our customers are craving. This new offering reflects Bonchon’s love for Filipinos by combining bold, signature flavors with a refreshing beverage and a visually exciting concept that stands out during the summer season.”

The concept of “Snow Much to Love” leaned heavily on contrast—hot weather versus cold aesthetic, crispy chicken versus creamy cheese, and bold flavors versus refreshing sweetness. Instead of positioning itself as a seasonal gimmick, the campaign framed itself as a momentary escape, especially for consumers seeking quick comfort between workdays, study breaks, or entertainment marathons.

Beyond the food, the activation space itself functioned as a visual extension of the brand’s idea of indulgence. Photo-friendly setups and icy design cues reinforced the campaign’s playful identity while encouraging guests to experience the pairing not just as a meal but as a shareable summer moment.

Available in Bonchon stores nationwide and through delivery platforms, the Snow Cheese Chikin and Caramel Snow Ice Coffee set aims to bring a refreshing twist to familiar cravings. (with reports from Lau Balocos)
