CookieRun: OvenSmash Regional Beta Finally Lands in Southeast Asia, Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on April 23 — and the Local Touch Is Real!

Devsisters is finally bringing its breakout PvP action game, CookieRun: OvenSmash, to Southeast Asia, Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on April 23, and it’s not just another regional beta. This one actually speaks the local language, and more importantly, reflects the region’s cultural diversity.

Since its global debut, CookieRun: OvenSmash has had a strong showing. The game crossed one million players in under three days and climbed to the top of the iOS and Android download charts in both the United States and South Korea. Now, Devsisters alongside strategic publishing partner VNGGames, is bringing that momentum east, with a regional beta locked in for April 23.

But this isn’t your typical plug-and-play expansion. VNGGames is going deep on localisation with five supported languages at the regional beta: Traditional Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese, Bahasa, and English — plus full voice dubbing in English, Thai, and Mandarin. Think of it less as a beta and more as an open invitation, jump in early, and you’re not just playing, you’re part of building the universe. No wipes, no resets, everything you build stays with you. All your progress carries over seamlessly, so every battle, upgrade, and milestone continues to count from day one.

The skins are where it gets local. Just days ago, a Vietnamese lotus-patterned áo dài skin surfaced on the official fan page — instantly recognisable, rooted in local tradition, and exactly the kind of reference that spells the unique tradition of oriental beauty. The skin will be officially available in-game from the regional beta on 23 April 2026. Meanwhile, Singaporean and Malaysian players are getting their own nods too, with teh tarik (pulled tea) and ondeh-ondeh (glutinous dessert ball) making the cut — street food staples that feel like genuine picks rather than decorative ones.

Devsisters and VNGGames have confirmed this is just the start. Localised skins for The Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, and more are already in the pipeline — and there’s plenty more still to come.

More Localised Skins Await in CookieRun: OvenSmash as Regional Beta Rolls Across Southeast Asia, Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau

At its core, CookieRun: OvenSmash marks the CookieRun franchise’s first real-time PvP entry that built around tight, three-minute 3v3 matches designed for mobile play in short bursts, whether you’re commuting, queueing for lunch, or killing time between notifications.

The standout mechanic is the Spell Card system. Mid-match wildcards that can completely flip the outcome in seconds, forcing both teams to constantly read and react. Early global players have flagged it as more strategically layered than the format suggests – split-second calls that can make or break a match.

Since pre-registration opened across Southeast Asia, Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau in March, CookieRun: OvenSmash has already pulled in over a million sign-ups. Players who get in early have an exclusive regional launch bundle waiting, including region-specific accessories and in-game rewards right out of the gate. CookieRun: OvenSmash regional beta began at 10:00 (GMT+8) on April 23. Keep an eye on the official channels for updates ahead of launch.
