Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee drew attention online after posting a cryptic message about alleged “political grandstanding” amid ongoing controversies involving the Senate.

On his Instagram account, Enchong shared a quote from American politician Steve Bullock that read: “Political grandstanding might make for great soundbites for the evening news, but it will do nothing to help the people.”
The actor added a meaningful caption that quickly caught the attention of netizens.
“Nakakahiya naman sa sambayanang Pilipino… Kamusta na kaya kalagayan ng kababayan natin? May nangamusta na ba sa’tin?”
The post became even more talked about after Enchong tagged Senate of the Philippines as the location.
Although the actor did not directly mention any politician or issue, several netizens speculated that the post may have been connected to the recent emotional speech delivered by Pia Cayetano during a Senate plenary session.
It can be recalled that Cayetano became emotional while responding to remarks made by Risa Hontiveros regarding the controversial shooting incident inside the Senate premises.
“Parang walang nangyari. ‘Yan po ang statement ng ating butihing Senadora Hontiveros,” Cayetano said.
She later added: “Siguro po para sa mga inyong wala dito. Pero para sa amin na nandito, napakaraming nangyari. Takot na takot po ako na kailangan ko nang magpaalam sa mga anak ko.”
Cayetano also shared her disappointment that some of her colleagues allegedly did not check on them after the incident.
“Some of you I’ve known for 20 years, 10 years and I didn’t even hear any of you say, ‘Kumusta na kayo dyan?’ Napakasakit nu’n sa akin, sobrang sakit,” she said.
However, Erwin Tulfo later disputed the claim and said some senators had expressed concern through their group chat following the incident.
Enchong’s post quickly generated mixed reactions online, with many netizens praising the actor for using his platform to comment on current issues.
As of writing, Enchong has yet to elaborate further on the meaning behind his viral post.
