Actress Janine Gutierrez did not hold back in reacting to the appeal made by Senator Ronald dela Rosa following reports about an arrest warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court.

On her X account, Janine questioned Dela Rosa’s call for support from Filipinos amid the controversy linked to the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign.
“Woooow now he’s saying he’s a Filipino and he needs our support,” Janine wrote.
She then pointed out the plight of families allegedly affected by extrajudicial killings during the war on drugs.
“What about all the Filipinos and families that were victims of your EJK? They deserve justice. The Filipino people deserve better,” she added.
The actress’ post quickly circulated online and drew mixed reactions from netizens, with many praising her for speaking up while others defended the senator.
Dela Rosa earlier stated that he would exhaust all legal remedies to avoid being arrested and brought before the court in The Hague, Netherlands.
The senator has been tagged as an alleged co-perpetrator in the controversial anti-drug campaign launched during the administration of former president Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently facing crimes against humanity charges before the ICC.
Meanwhile, Malacañang Palace said it would leave matters related to the reported arrest warrant to law enforcement agencies.
According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has yet to issue a direct statement regarding the matter.
“Hayaan po natin ang law enforcement agencies natin ang siya pong magsalita tungkol dito,” Castro said.
She also addressed questions regarding former senator Antonio Trillanes IV allegedly obtaining a copy of the warrant, saying it may be because he was among those involved in filing complaints before the ICC related to the drug war killings.
As of writing, authorities have yet to serve the reported ICC warrant against Dela Rosa after the Senate granted him protective custody.
