Reaffirming its long-standing commitment to promoting literacy among Filipino learners, Lampara Books donated over one million books to the Department of Education (DepEd) during a partnership event held at Taytay Elementary School on June 9, 2026.
The donation is part of a collaborative effort with DepEd to help address the country’s growing reading crisis by expanding access to books for schools, teachers, parents, and students nationwide.
Lampara Books was joined by fellow publishing companies Canvas, Adarna House, Rex Education, and The Asia Foundation in supporting the program, reflecting a shared commitment to improving reading outcomes for Filipino children.
The initiative aligns with Lampara Books’ advocacy of making quality reading materials more accessible to Filipino children. By contributing over one million books, the publishing house continues to play an active role in supporting national efforts to address learning loss and foster a stronger culture of reading.
The donation also provides educators, parents, and learners with valuable resources that encourage reading both inside and outside the classroom, helping place more books in the hands of young readers where they are needed most.
As the Philippines continues to address learning and reading challenges, Lampara Books remains committed to creating and distributing books that educate, inspire, and cultivate a lifelong love for reading among Filipino children.
