Following the box-office success of their respective films Love, Ngo and Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion, comedy stars Jerald Napoles and Pepe Herrera are joining forces in the upcoming comedy film Ang Pinakamasarap na Pares sa Balat ng Lupa, directed by Raynier F. Brizuela.
Set to open in cinemas nationwide on Aug. 26, the film follows an offbeat adventure that blends friendship, food, and comedy.
Herrera plays Don, a man whose life is turned upside down after being told he has only 24 hours left to live. Faced with his supposed final day, Don decides to fulfill one last wish: to taste the “most delicious pares on Earth” featured in a viral vlog—the same dish his late grandmother once loved.
Accompanying him is his loyal best friend Mola, portrayed by Napoles. A resourceful yet impulsive street-smart companion, Mola joins Don on a journey that quickly spirals into a series of chaotic misadventures.
As the pair search for the legendary bowl of pares, they find themselves pursued by the eccentric and corrupt Doc Thor, played by Gene Padilla, who is determined to harvest Don’s perfectly healthy liver.
The cast also includes content creator-actor Yanyan De Jesus as Evans, Mola’s trusted assistant at the paresan, whose antics add another layer of comedy to the story. Christine Bermas plays Molly, the woman who captures Mola’s heart, sparking a playful rivalry with Evans as they join Don and Mola on their quest.
Also joining the ensemble are comedians TJ Valderrama, Kedebon Colim, Jobelyn Manuel, James Caraan, and Nonong Ballinan, with the film also teasing a special guest appearance.
