Maja Salvador has nothing but praise for her co-stars Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid, saying the three maintained a collaborative and ego-free environment while filming ABS-CBN’s upcoming primetime drama ‘Someone, Someday’.

Speaking to the entertainment press, Salvador described the atmosphere on set as supportive and welcoming, with everyone focused on making each scene better rather than competing for the spotlight.
“My co-actors are very generous. Sobrang generous. Kunwari, may mga revelation scenes kami, ibibigay nila. Kunwari eksena ko, ‘Ito, eksena mo.’ ‘Ito, tayong lahat ‘to.’ Tulungan, ganun.”
She added that there was never any sense of rivalry despite all three being established stars.
“Hindi pinapaandar yung ego o mas sikat ako o mas ganyan. Andun yung collaboration. Very okay yung atmosphere namin sa set. Kaya walang sapawan.”
Salvador also commended Bernardo, whom she described as the “captain” of the production because of her leadership and openness to collaboration.
“Si Kath ang captain ng show namin. At sobrang okay siyang leader. Talagang, ‘Okay, let’s do this.’ ‘Ate, what do you think if we do this?’ Pati kina Direk Chad at Direk Dolly, very collaborative.”
According to Maja, she also became the “icebreaker” between Bernardo and Reid during the early days of filming because the two were initially shy around each other.
She admitted she quickly became a fan of their on-screen pairing after witnessing their chemistry during the series’ look test.
“Hindi naman love team yung dalawa, pero kung sino man nakaisip nito, ABS-CBN and Dreamscape, good job po. Meron talagang chemistry yung dalawa. Look test pa lang, nagdikit lang sila sa dining table, sabi ko, ‘Ay, cute kayo.’ Nag-blush sila.”
Salvador said the positive energy among the three leads stems from their shared passion for the project. She noted that the series marks her return to ABS-CBN dramas, while it also serves as Bernardo’s latest teleserye and Reid’s television comeback after a decade.
“Pag nagsama-sama kaming tatlo, talagang nagtutulungan. Walang ego-ego, walang kung sino yung mas star. Ang iniisip namin, paano natin mapapaganda ang eksenang ito.”
In Someone, Someday, Salvador portrays Abi Mercado, a complex character she considers one of the most layered roles she has ever played.
According to the actress, Abi begins as the number one admirer of Kathryn Bernardo’s character, Billy, while also being a devoted daughter caring for her ailing mother, played by Rita Avila. As the story unfolds, the character is forced to confront betrayal, emotional pain, and difficult choices.
“Si Abi, masasabi ko siya na yata yung pinaka-layered na karakter na ginampanan ko. Isa siyang fan, isang tao na maraming pinagdadaanan at ipaglalaban ang kanyang pamilya. Pero hanggang saan siya dadalhin ng love? Hanggang saan siya masasaktan?”
The series also features Dimples Romana, Rowell Santiago, McCoy de Leon, Daniela Stranner, and Migz Casimiro, under the direction of Chad Vidanes and Dolly Dulu.
‘Someone, Someday’ premieres on July 27 at 8:45 p.m. and will air on ALLTV2, TV5, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube and Facebook. The series will also feature an official soundtrack composed of 11 songs performed by artists including James Reid, Maki, Belle Mariano, Angela Ken, Bryan Chong, FANA, and Shaniah Rollo.
