Liza Diño slammed government critics about ASEAN traffic woes.
Netizen and former Manila Times columnist Katrina Stuart Santiago called out Film Development Council Chairperson Liza Diño – Seguerra for her insensitive comments about the ASEAN summit metro traffic.
In a Facebook post, Stuart-Santiago corrected Diño for saying the government did not tell people to “Go on vacation” to maximize the 3-day no work holiday in view of the Philippines’ Manila hosting of the 31st ASEAN Summit.
“No #LizaDiño, you’re wrong. Government DID say “Go on vacation so that traffic wouldn’t be as bad” during ASEAN week,” she wrote.
She also added the link of an Inquirer article quoting Asean traffic management commander of his advise for people to go on vacation.
Diño on Sunday posted a statement on her Facebook page saying no one has forced anyone to go out of town. She also pointed out that the government already suspended work and classed because of the anticipated heavy traffic thus no point in blaming government.
“Kaya nga dineclare na walang pasok dahil sarado ang mga daan. Anticipate traffic. Magbakasyon at your own risk. Di sinabing mag out of town kayo.”
That comment spark Stuart – Santiago to call out Diño saying Filipino taxpayers have the right to complain because their pay and livelihood are at stake.
She also left a parting word about the unfairness to the government which Diño cried but failed to see where the injustice lies.

Also, WE have a right to complain about the traffic, because GUESS WHAT: People are losing pay because of this, people are losing livelihood because of this, people are exhausted more than they have ever been.
