It all started when Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia had a talk with Boy Abunda on his show, ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda,’ when Joshua was asked about what he thinks of Julia’s daring style of dressing up. He honestly said that he is a bit uncomfortable with it because he thinks that she is not being careful.
He also openly shared how Julia prefers wearing “nipple tapes'” instead of “bras.” Julia then straightforwardly answered that she just isn’t comfortable with wearing bras and that, in the first place, it does not even fit her.
She jokingly said, “Hindi talaga kumportable magsuot ng bra. Ako naman din walang kakapitan ‘yung bra, so mas masakit talaga kasi nagta-try naman yung bra ko eh, pero wala talaga syang makapitan.”
This was followed when Julia posted in her twitter account a picture of her buying dozens of nipple tapes, captioning it, “100 NIPPLE TAPES KASI ITO LANG ANG KAYANG KUMAPIT.”

From that post, netizens started making a noise in social media by giving out their different reactions towards Julia’s honest statement. They where so in the zone of the nipple tapes craze that one netizen hailed her the “Queen of the flat chested.”
This caught the actress’ attention, and she couldn’t agree more so she proudly re-posted it saying, “You may call me that.”
