Veteran actress Lorna Tolentino welcomed her 50th anniversary in showbiz with a grateful heart as her guest stint on the action-drama series ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ has been extended until September 2019.
Tolentino plays the role of Lily Ann Cortez, a two-faced character who deals with both cops and criminals. She made her first appearance on March 11 with a powerful and grandiose entrance.
The actress opened up about the issue of her character ‘Lily’ being presumably based on Pork Barrel Queen Janet Napoles.
“Palagay ko, hindi lang naman siya ang pinagkunan, marami talaga. Maraming involved para mabuo si Lily, hindi lang isang tao. Marami siyang mukha, iba-iba siya. Hindi mo na talaga siya maintindihan. Marami naman na parang tulad niya na hindi mo malaman kung kakampi mo ba o kalaban,” the actress said.
The actress also said that she admired Coco Martin for his dedication to the action-drama series.
“Hindi pa rin siya nagbabago. Focused talaga siya trabaho. Yung mga artista inaalagaan niya ng husto,” she said.
‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ has been airing for almost four years now and is still one of the most watched shows on TV. It has aired 941 episodes since 2015, making it the longest-running action drama series in the country.
The series was initially set to end in 2017, but due to its high ratings ABS-CBN extended the show’s run. The series was then supposed to end in October 2018, but was extended again.
Recently, there were reports that the series was set to air its final episode after the May 2019 elections but these are apparently untrue.
On May 10, the first season of the series was made available on Netflix under the title Brothers.
