Kapamilya actress and TV host Kim Chiu has added another international recognition to her growing list of achievements after being named Best Global Star at the 2026 iMBC Awards in South Korea.

Chiu topped the vote-based category after receiving 40.91% of the votes, besting Thai stars Rachanun Mahawan and Tipnaree Weerawatnodom, who placed second and third, respectively.
Following her latest international win, Chiu immediately expressed her gratitude to her supporters who devoted their time and effort to voting for her.
“Wow!!!! Time, effort, love and support! Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo!” Chiu wrote on X.
Her onscreen partner Paulo Avelino also earned recognition at the awards. He received the Outstanding Asian Star award after garnering 43.63% of the votes.
Meanwhile, South Korean stars IU and Byeon Woo-seok were among the major winners. IU was named Best Korean Actress with 50.69% of the votes, while Byeon Woo-seok won Best Korean Actor with 49.92%.
The iMBC Awards is presented by iMBC Entertainment, the digital media arm of Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), one of South Korea’s major broadcasting networks.
This is not the first time Chiu has received recognition in South Korea.
In 2024, she won the Outstanding Asian Star award at the Seoul International Drama Awards for her performance as Juliana Lualhati in the ABS-CBN series ‘Linlang.’
Her latest award comes as Chiu marks another milestone in her career. In June, the actress celebrated her 20th anniversary in show business, two decades after first gaining public attention through “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition” in 2006.
Aside from acting, Chiu remains one of the mainstay hosts of the ABS-CBN noontime program ‘It’s Showtime.’
