Richard Gutierrez appears uncertain whether he will still be part of the second season of ABS-CBN’s action series ‘Incognito.’
During a recent event, Gutierrez was asked if he would reprise his role as JB Bonifacio, also known by his codename Shark, in ‘Incognito 2.’
“Incognito 2? I think they started filming hindi ko alam, eh, hindi ako updated,” Gutierrez answered with a smile.
Speculation about his absence from the sequel intensified after several cast members were spotted together in Tawi-Tawi, where filming for the new season reportedly took place.
Among those seen were returning stars Daniel Padilla, Kaila Estrada, Anthony Jennings, Maris Racal, and Ian Veneracion. Carlo Aquino and Jane Oineza were also spotted with the group as new additions to the cast.
Judy Ann Santos has also been rumored to be joining ‘Incognito 2,’ although her participation has yet to be officially confirmed.
Gutierrez stars alongside Gerald Anderson in ‘Blood vs Duty,’ making it difficult for him to accommodate another major action project at the same time.
Carlo Aquino was reportedly brought into ‘Incognito 2,’ although details about his character, as well as Oineza’s role, have yet to be revealed.
For his part, Gutierrez said he intends to take a break after completing his current series.
“Magpapahinga muna ako after this (Blood vs Duty), I’m not updated with what’s happening in Incognito 2,” he said.
When told that viewers might simply have to wait and see whether Shark could still make an appearance, Gutierrez replied, “Yeah, aabangan nila kung anuman ‘yun.”
