Marjorie Barretto has confirmed the rumor about her past relationship with former Caloocan Mayor Recom Echiverri.
In an exclusive interview with Karen Davila on TV Patrol, Marjorie revealed that Echiverri is the father of her youngest daughter Erich.
“Recom Echiverri is the father of my youngest daughter. That’s all I have to say,” said Marjorie.
Echiverri and Barretto worked together in Caloocan City Hall when the former was the Mayor and the latter, City councilor.
Although Marjorie and Echiverri’s relationship has been an open secret, there has never been a direct confirmation until now.
Meanwhile asked if she’s ready with the backlash and criticism over her revelation, Barretto nodded that she’s well aware of it.
“Alam mo, hindi ako perfect. I’m very strong in many ways, pero sa pag-ibig talaga, mahina ako. I’m sorry, I’m not very proud of it. That is the reason why I was not announcing to the public,” she answered.

“I wasn’t claiming to be perfect, pero ayoko nang makasakit ng ibang tao pa. Maraming masasaktan, e, kung magiging garapal ako. That’s the reason why I kept it. I’m sorry, I’m not perfect. Mali po talaga na I fell in love with a married man. Pero ito na po ‘yun, e,” Marjorie added.
Marjorie has had a colorful love life. Her first born Dani is product of her relationship with actor Kier Legazpi. After Kier, she was involved with Dennis Padilla and had three children with him: Julia, Claudia, and Leon. The paternity of her youngest daughter Erich was finally confirmed in her interview as her child with Echiverri.
Meanwhile, in the same interview, Marjorie belied sister Gretchen’s accusation that the former Mayor molested Claudine.
Gretchen, in one of her Instagram posts, accused Echiverri of molesting youngest sister Claudine.
But according to Marjorie, Gretchen had been threatening her and Echiverri with a molestation case since March this year.
In giving context to the ties between Claudine and Echiverri, Marjorie revealed that Claudine once sought financial help from the former Mayor. Although Marjorie was against the idea, she let the Mayor help Claudine not knowing that it will be used against him.
“With a heavy heart, I let him. Tinulungan niya si Claudine. To our surprise, we never thought it was a setup. It was intended to hurt me, harm me, and destroy his person, when all along, all he really wanted to do was to help her,” she narrated.
