Maja Salvador’s ‘The Killer Bride’ can’t seem to match ‘Wildflower’s’ achievements

It can be recalled that Maja’s Wildflower TV series became so widely talked about that Filipinos used some scenes as memes.

It has been two months since Maja Salvador’s The Killer Bride premiered on TV. It’s pilot week did well and went viral as the story of how a young Camila was mistreated and wrongly accused of murder played out.

But the show’s success maybe short lived as succeeding weeks seem to unable to keep up with the hype.

ABS-CBN’s Wildflower was nominated as ‘Best Asian Drama’ at the 1st Asia Contents Awards along with the other shows from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Myanmar and Cambodia.

The Killer Bride is a drama revolving around a mystery which unfortunately seems to have failed to capture the interest of the viewers, just like Bela Padilla’s Mea Culpa, Sino Ang May Sala?

Timeslots and pilot episode’s ranking

Wildflower with over 257 episodes aired at its timeslot 5:45 PM right before ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol and scored 20.1% ratings with its pilot episode.

On the other hand, Maja Salvador’s The Killer Bride occupies the third slot in primetime every 9:15 PM that has garnered 23.1% during its pilot episode, compared to his rival show in GMA Love You Two with only 10.1% according to Kantar Media.
