Malaysian model and actress Carmen Soo joined the call for the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise ahead of the House panel voting that will dictate the fate of the media giant.

Soo’s video was on top of other international collaborators of ABS-CBN and its past films, the Croatia-set “Make It With You” included. These international partners are in full support of the #VoteYesToABSCBN movement.

“I am in full support of the appeal to allow ABS-CBN to operate again. I hope that the powers that be will make this happen,” Soo said.

Soo further revealed that ABS-CBN made it possible for everyone in Malaysia to see the beauty of the Philippines, and vice versa.
“During my time working with ABS-CBN through our project, everyone in the Philippines was exposed to the beautiful country of Malaysia, and everyone in Malaysia was able to see the beautiful country of the Philippines,” she said.

In September 2008, Carmen co-starred in an ABS-CBN collaboration with Malaysia’s Double Vision, Kahit Isang Saglit’ with Jericho Rosales, Cristine Reyes, and Christopher de Leon’.  The said soap was aired in the Philippines and in Malaysia, and worldwide through TFC. “Kahit Isang Saglit’ later earned an International Emmy Award nomination.

Soo went on to appear in several more ABS-CBN programs in 2009. She became a judge for  “It’s Showtime”  and starred in one of the many episodes of “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

In 2010, Carmen appeared in a four-part series of Your Song entitled “Beautiful Girl” with Christian Bautista, which was shot through mid-July and August between Malaysia and the Philippines

On May 5th, the NTC ordered ABS-CBN to stop its broadcast operations due to its expired franchise.

A joint House panel wrapped up its 12th hearing on ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal application on Monday and is expected to vote on the measure on Thursday.
