Kapuso star Heart Evangelista talked about her ‘cruel’ non-showbiz ex-boyfriend. She revealed that she used to be in a relationship with a non-showbiz guy who is ‘cruel’ to her.
The 36-year-old actress made the revelation in her recent YouTube vlog where she shared 10 life lessons that she learned so far in her life.
In her second life lesson, Heart mentioned, “Be with someone who doesn’t hold you back.”
She then recalled her ex-boyfriend who was cruel to her as he would often try to control her life.
“I had a boyfriend that was so bad to me. He wasn’t in showbiz. I hardly talk about him or speak about him. Sad to say, he was just actually a rebound. But I really wanted it to work because I wanted to get over someone but he was really cruel,” she said.
She admitted that their relationship was a traumatic experience to her saying: “I remember for how many years after I couldn’t go to a certain area in Manila because I was so traumatized.”
Heart said that her ex-boyfriend would restrict her in many things like working, wearing what she likes and would even restrict her to spend her own money.
“That guy made it seem that the idea of me working wasn’t really in the cards, he would say that what I’m wearing is too revealing, it’s not lady-like or something like that.
“It was such a turn-off,” Heart said.
She noted that people should be with somebody who will allow their partner to explore and grow.
She said that her relationship with her husband, Chiz Escudero, is a happy one as Chiz would allow her to explore more about herself and continue to support her.
“At the end of the day, you got to end up with somebody that’s not going to control you but instead make you bloom as a person.”
Heart Evangelista did not disclose the name of her non-showbiz ex-boyfriend.
The fashion icon that she is–the actress is known for dating a lot of guys before. She previously talked about her relationships with Jericho Rosales and Daniel Matsunaga in G3 San Diego’s IGTV live.
Her relationship with Jericho was in 2005 as they both starred in the ABS-CBN series, Ang Panday.
She also opened up about her romance with Daniel Matsunaga where she said that their relationship was not so stressful compared to her other relationships.
