Another GMA Network romantic-comedy series, Heartful Café had its premiere and toppled its competition in the rating game.
It headlined Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco, aired its pilot episode on Monday, April 26.
Based on the latest AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey, Heartful Café dominated its timeslot by scoring 14.1% compared to its rival Huwag Kang Mangamba, which scored a combined rating of 7.5%.
Given the current TV landscape, it’s not surprising that GMA teledramas win the rating game against its competitors.
The pilot episode was also well received on social media as the hashtag #HCNowServing, and the phrase Meet CEO Heart took the top two and top three trending topics on Twitter Philippines.
However, while Heartful Café managed to snatch the timeslot win against its rival program, its pilot rating failed to match the rating of its predecessor-–ICYI: The Lookout.
The Lookout currently holds the record for the highest rating ever for the mini-series, scoring 17.6% on Thursday, April 22.
Meanwhile, the Kapuso rom-com series also failed to match its rival in terms of online views.
Based on the number of Youtube views for its pilot episode, Heartful Café failed compared to Huwag Kang Mangamba.
The new GMA Network series only managed to rake 18 thousand views on its first episode compared to HKM’s more than 1.98 million views on the same day.
