Award-winning actress Alessandra de Rossi throws shade against President Rodrigo Duterte after backing out from his debate challenge.
In a tweet address to her critics, de Rossi said she doesn’t care about people calling her “laos” because it’s just a state of mind.
She then took a pot shot at President Duterte saying a true “laos” is someone who backs out from his challenge.

During his recorded Talk to the People on Wednesday, May 5, Duterte publicly declared his challenge against former Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio to a debate regarding the West Philippine Sea issue saying they are both lawyers.
“Itong Carpio naman, sulat nang sulat ng mga decision para sa kanyang utak lang. Isa ring ugok itong…Bak…Supreme Court justice. Pareho man tayo abugado. Gusto – eh gusto mo mag-debate tayo?” said Duterte last Wednesday, May 5.
However, on Friday, May 7, Presidential mouthpiece Harry Roque announced that Duterte backed out from his debate challenge citing advice from cabinet members and some senators.
According to Roque, there’ll be no good result that will come out of the debate if ever.
“Handang-handa sana ang Presidente na dumibate pero kagabi po tinanggap nia ang advice ng ilang miyembro ng Gabinete kasama si Executive Secretary Medialdea. sinabi ng Gabinete at sinusugan ito ng dalawang Senador si Senate President Sotto at Senator Pimentel na unang-una na walang mabuting magiging resulta ang debate para sa sambayanang Pilipino”
Meanwhile, in a subsequent tweet, Alex said she’d love to see the debate proceed not for anything but to see what they’re going to talk about and also to be entertained.
“If it matters, joke lang talaga yung kanina. Pero sa totoo, na excite ako sa debate not para may manalo, di na ako umabot doon. I just wanted to hear what THEY think, and what THEY think. Because no is talking about it! For information lang! And entertainment na rin! Patawad!”
