How did moving in together helped Ben&Ben grow as a band?

On September 20, Ben&Ben shared how moving in together helped them grow as artists during their exclusive interview.

Patricia Lasaten said that moving in together as a band helped them be more understanding and helped them accept each other.

“Sa tingin ko, sobrang dami naming pinagdaanan as a band. Since the early start noong simula pa noong pandemic. Ang daming ups, ang daming downs.

“Pero ang weird, with in one year ang daming nangyari compared to like how it was pre-pandemic. Sobrang nag-grow kami, nag-mature kami. Ang dami naming natutunan.

“We learned to be more understanding and kind to one another kasi nga we’re all living in one house, so syempre may mga nadi-discover na mga quirks. ‘Yung mga ganon. We just learned to accept each other for who we are.”

During the exclusive interview, they also shared surprising details they discovered about each other when they moved in together in the Pebble House.

Poch Barreto recalled seeing fellow member Andrew de Pano spend most of his time in his room.

“Siguro when we moved to ‘yung previous house namin ng Ben&Ben last year, siguro na notice ko talaga na ninety percent of the day or siguro eighty percent of the day, nasa room lang siya or nasa kama lang siya buong araw. When I see him in a day parang, ‘uy long time ah.'”

Patricia Lasaten and Agnes Reoma shared what they discovered about fellow Ben&Ben member, Toni Muñoz.

“Pre-pandemic alam kong laging may dala si Toni. Lagi siyang may dalang bag na kung ano-ano ‘yung laman. Tapos ngayon noong nag-move in kami sa first house, na-confirm lang lalo na marami siyang dala kasi ang dami niyang luggage,” said Patricia.

“Oy parang, ‘kailangan natin ng ilaw.’ ‘Ha, ilaw? Sakto buti dinala ko.’ Tapos bigla siyang may ilaw. As in random things na di mo aakalain dadalhin ng tao,” Agnes added.

Toni replied, saying that Pat is a stage mother to her pet dogs.

“Na-discover ko naman kay Pat. Grabe na-witness ko ‘yung iba pala talaga ‘yung pagka-motherly niya. As in sa mga dogs niya, siya ‘yung tipong kung nanay siya, stage mother siya.”

Andrew said he had fun learning and guessing how each of them fixes or organizes their own stuff.

“Each person has their own way of fixing their own stuff, their own way of organizing. Tapos masaya, I guess it’s fun trying to learn or guess what the other person is going to do next.”

Miguel Benjamin said he noticed how they had different wake-up times, especially those who owned pets.

“Ang isang ibang-iba rin sa amin, ‘yung oras ng gising at oras ng tulog. Kumbaga may mga tao sa banda na talagang night owls. Tapos kami namang mga morning people. I think lalo na ‘yung may mga dogs, kasi wala kang choice kung hindi morning people.”

Paolo Benjamin noticed each of the band members ‘ eating habits, such as having midnight snacks.

“Ako I think, ‘yung eating habits ng mga tao, sobrang ibang iba talaga siya. Nakakatuwang i-observe. May iba na sobrang hilig mag-midnight snack. Tapos may iba na sobrang aga gumising at mag almusal. Tapos si Jam ‘yung first meal niya of the day laging lunch na. Small thing pero nakakatuwang iobserve.”

Ben&Ben moved in together as a band at the start of the pandemic. The group focused on producing music during the lockdowns, which resulted in their sophomore album. They released their ‘Pebble House Vol. 1: Kuwaderno‘ in August 2021.

The 13-track album under Sony Music Philippines includes songs and stories of the group. It also features collaborations with iconic OPM artists such as SB19, KZ Tandingan, Moira dela Torre, Chito Miranda, Zild, Juan Karlos, and Munimuni.

‘Pebble House Vol. 1: Kuwaderno‘ is available for streaming via Sony Music and all digital streaming platforms.
