On November 23, Gigi De Lana admitted feeling pressure in getting paired with Gerald Anderson.
During the unveiling event of ABS-CBN and iQiyi’s Filipino Originals, De Lana said she aims to give her role her one hundred percent as the leading lady of Anderson.
“It my first time doing this kasi nga puro kanta ako di ba? So ayun talagang na-pressure ako. Pero alam ko naman na gagawin ko ‘yung best dito sa project na ‘to I will give my one hundred percent para dito sa series na ‘to. Kasi nga kahit first time ko ‘to, gagawin ko siyang parang hindi first time.”
She also clarified that although she’s feeling the pressure, she considers landing a leading role on her first acting project a blessing.
“Na-pressure ako kasi first time kong aarte, tapos series pa. Lead role agad.
“Pero very thankful ako kasi blessing ito eh. Tsaka opportunity siya to learn great things. Kasi panibagong genre naman. I’m excited, tsaka pressured. ‘Yung dalawang ‘yun. excited and pressured.”
She then shared her preparations for her role, such as script reading, workshops, and watching movies with similar plot points.
“Workshops tapos, bago ‘yun script reading. Tapos ginawa ko, nanood ako ng movies. Lahat ng pinanood ko na movies almost the same sa Hello Heart, kasi para ma-invibe ko na rin ‘yung character ni Heart. Tapos binasa ko rin ‘yung script.”
De Lana trended on social media after her viral video, wherein she took on a medley of songs with increasing pitch. From then on, she signed with the Kapamilya Network as one of their newest artists.
As for their series, Hello, Heart premieres on iQiyi on December 15, 8 PM, with a new episode weekly. The series starring De Lana and Anderson will be available in iQiyi’s 191 territories worldwide.
