On Friday, February 11, Alex Diaz, with other personalities and netizens compared the presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice-presidential aspirant Kiko Pangilinan’s behaviors during their respective proclamation rallies.

The video shared by a twitter personality showed how the two disposed of their face masks.

Marcos tossed away his while Pangilinan kept it.

Diaz tweeted “How you do one thing is how you do everything”–is a sign of disapproval with how Marcos discarded his face mask.

Photographer Benny Bernardo even threw some shade (obviously at Toni Gonzaga) as he compared the discarded facemask to a used tissue.

Parang yung tinapong tissue na basa sa pawis ng kili-kili charnotchar https://t.co/d4Ia834fpK

Twitter personality Tets Makino stressed that Marcos should have “common decency and manners.”

Another social media personality considered it a big deal since it proved that Marcos was lagging behind in the “manners department.”

Chef Jacqueline Laudico even advised parents to aspire for a leader who is a good role model to children.

Parents, don’t you wish for the day when you can let your kids watch and listen to our nation’s leaders to be inspired, proud and motivated to be good citizens? #LeniKiko2022 https://t.co/2SqFRNLTo2

The pandemic was even brought into the comparison. A twitter user pointed out that Marcos was “irresponsible” for just throwing his face mask into the crowd knowing that there is still the threat of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, netizens also shared their take on the viral video.

A netizen ridiculed Marcos for being an “Oxford grad” and yet does not know how to properly dispose of his face mask.

"What is the point of education if we still throw trash to be picked by uneducated person?" #OxfordGrad https://t.co/GoMiIl7kiy

Another associated it with the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the Marcoses as he tweeted, “Ah yung ill-gotten manners.”

Some who were germophobes got triggered after seeing the presidential aspirant littered his way onto the stage.

A netizen was dumbfounded that Marcos could have held on to his face mask since he will be needing it again.

Ahhmm, if there’s no trash can then hold on to your freaking used mask first! You’re supposed to wear it again after you speak. Why are people even thinking of voting for this person???? https://t.co/7Uax6Apcs0

— arbie86 (@dangbvillanueva) February 11, 2022

He was even called a “spoiled brat” for it.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), to properly get rid of a face mask, one must discard it immediately in a closed bin.

This is due to the ongoing global pandemic. The Philippines has now reached 3.63 million positive cases with 54,854 deaths.
