The first collaborative single of the sibling groups under ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy perfectly showcases their journey as aspiring P-POP stars.
ABS-CBN doesn’t seem to run out of surprises, especially when developing its talents. Two of their most-amazing discoveries and products in the last two years are the sibling groups, BGYO and BINI, which are now both making their bids to dominate the local idol scene.
Last year, both groups released their respective debut studio albums. Both groups spawned several chart-topping singles. They also successfully staged their first major concerts, making them just two of few local acts to do so during the pandemic.
This year, following several performance collaborations on stage, BINI and BGYO take their partnership up a notch higher with their first single together. Titled ‘Up’, the track completely embodies their story, from becoming dreamers on stage to becoming successful performers with accomplished milestones under their belt.
Much of Up’s music video showcases the two groups’ Dubai adventures. Featuring footage from their Dubai trip, Up is a visual spectacle and an aesthetic representation of a fully-realized dream—to them, that is performing at the 1MX Dubai, their first international show. It is a visual mix of that surreal experience and the fusion of the two groups’ individual identities.
While it sports the quintessential P-POP sound, Up is not deprived of interesting new beats. Rhythmic and melodic drum beats are fused with pop synth elements, resulting in an energy-filled upbeat track that will surely leave its listeners dancing to their feet. There is conviction in its pleasant and wholesome sound. It made the whole track soar higher.
The footage[s] provides a compelling and satisfying backdrop for the whole track. It practically served as a vivid and vibrant visualization of what the track is about: dreamers who finally reach the skies in their quest to fulfill their lifelong dreams.
