On May 6, Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo recalled how her beau Daniel Padilla helped her gain confidence over the years.
During the media conference for KathNiel’s comeback series, 2 Good 2 Be True, Bernardo highlighted how Padilla helped her with herself.
“It took a while para ma-gain ‘yun and ang laking part ng confidence na ‘yun ay si DJ talaga. Because all of my doubts and insecurities, siya ‘yung nag-aano nun, siya ‘yung nagba-block nun para sa akin. So over the years din siguro, ‘yun ‘yung din ‘yung magandang regalo mo para sa sarili mo na natanggap mo ‘yung sarili mo ng buo. Na na-realize ko na mas okay pala pag ganito.”
She also pointed out that although she’s more confident, she still got questions herself, but her support system helps her overcome them.
“So it took a while lang, but then I’m very happy because ‘yun mas natanggap ko ‘yung sarili ko. My skin color, all of my insecurities before and I feel better na ganon. And sana through that, mas marami pang– for sure– ngayon syempre may mga days pa rin na feeling mo ganyan ang dami mong questions.
“But then, ang dami sigurong nagre-remind sa akin, the people around me, sila ‘yung nagre-remind ng worth mo it’s very important. Your friends, your family, DJ, everyone, our directors, our mentors, malaking tulong ‘yun to surround yourself with those kinds of people.”
She then expressed her hopes of sharing her journey of gaining her confidence with other women who felt the same way as her.
“Siguro gusto ko rin ma-over come ‘yun especially with the other girls na pinagdaanan or pinagdadaanan pa ‘yung na-feel ko na at your own pace, but pag na-overcome mo ‘yun, it’s the greatest gift that you could give to yourself
Padilla responded to Bernardo’s statement saying, “Bilang nobyo ‘yun dapat ang ginagawa natin, di ba? That’s it.”
The KathNiel loveteam first appeared on TV in 2011 via the ABS-CBN series Growing Up. The real-life couple first confirmed their relationship in 2018.
As for their project comeback, KathNiel returns to teleseryes via the Kapamilya series, 2 Good 2 Be True.
The series stars streams on Netflix Philippines and iWantTFC on May 13.
2 Good 2 Be True then officially airs via Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5 beginning May 16.
