Kapuso writer Suzette Doctolero claims that the near finale of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is just another gimik.
In a Facebook comment, Doctolero didn’t minced words in blasting the longest-running teleserye for putting up a gimik to win back their audience.
According to her, it was not true that the Coco Martin-led action-drama series had toppled the Kapuso telefantasya Encantadia.
Doctolero said Encantadia gave FPJAP a good fight in the rating game, with the Kapuso series occasionally winning. She also added that FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s used to resort to “series finale” gimik since 2016 to gain back their audience.
“Ay pinataob niya ang encantadia? Hindi. Lumalaban sa ratings ang enca at madalas ay natatalo nya ang probinsyano kaya unang nag announced noon ang probinsyano na siya ay magwawakas na (2016) pero nanloko lang pala at hindi naman totoo at gusto lang balikan sila ng audience.
“Gumigimik. Sa totoo lang ay style nila yan na kapag bagsak sila sa ratings ay gigimik sila na magwawakas na pero hindi pala. Susko since 2016 pa ay nagsasabi sila lagi na mag e end na pero nanloloko.
“[Ayan] na naman sila porke nilalapa sila ng Lolong. Asus tigilan ako.”
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano has recently announced its near finale.
This was the first time that Kapamilya’s longest-running teleserye has explicitly announced that it will be ending in three weeks’ time contrary to Doctolero’s claim that they have announced their ending in 2016.
Meanwhile, Kapuso star and Lolong lead actor Ruru Madrid refused to claim that Lolong caused Ang Probinsyano’s demise.
According to Madrid’s statement sent via PEP.PH, Lolong cannot be compared to the Kapamilya teleserye since their show has just started while FPJAP has been on the air for almost 7 years.
“To be honest, I wouldn’t say na ang Lolong po ang nagpatumba sa Ang Probinsyano dahil kakasimula pa lamang po namin at sila po ay umere ng 7 years kung saan tinutukan at sinubaybayan din po sila ng sambayanang Pilipino.”
Madrid also cited that some of the projects he did in the past were toppled by FPJAP.
“Katunayan po nito, ako po ay nakagawa ng ilang mga teleserye na nakatapat ng Ang Probinsyano katulad po ng Encantadia, Alyas Robinhood 2, Sherlock Jr. Nag-guest din po ako sa The Cure at ngayon ang Lolong.”
He also shared that he highly respects Coco and the FPJAP’s entire production.
“Mataas po ang respeto ko sa lahat ng bumubuo ng Ang Probinsyano, lalo na po kay Sir Coco Martin.”
