On October 15, an unexpected glimpse from the Knowing Bros variety show captured the hearts and excitement of K-pop and boxing fans alike when the program revealed the appearance of Filipino Boxing Superstar Manny Pacquiao with former 2ne1 and Filipina artist Sandara Park.
The teaser revealed Pacquiao sporting the Knowing Bros iconic school uniform, followed by Park playing with the boxer’s joke by asking: “who’s the boss” in the classroom. The two were also shown as teammates when she translated some Filipino words for their Korean hosts.
In the teaser, Pacquiao showed his speed while training the hosts with his boxing styles. He sparred and faced off in jest with the hosts, which included the athletes Kang Ho-dong and Seo Jang-hoon.
In a glimpse, the matches involved a poking stick with a glove attached at the end. It aimed to knock the opponent out of balance. Other activities teased to include athletic exhibitions, “punching” tests, and “Zumba” dancing.
Pacquiao and Park’s cheerful and hyper energy perfectly matched energies of the hosts. It made them the perfect tandem for the said episode. Fans on YouTube comment section expressed their excitement for the unexpected collaboration between the K-pop star and the People’s Champ.
Aside from this, Pacquiao will appear on Running Man, another Korean TV show on October 23. The boxer is doing promotional activities in South Korea for his upcoming exhibition match with Korean YouTuber DK Yoo, which will happen on December 11 this year.
This Knowing Bros episode will premiere on October 22.
