‘It’s Showtime’ announces team designation of hosts for ‘Magpasikat 2022’

The highly anticipated annual television event returns next week, in time for the noontime show’s 13th anniversary.

The hosts of ‘It’s Showtime’ have recently revealed the teams they will compete with for ‘Magpasikat 2022’. The highly anticipated annual special is finally happening next week, from November 15-21.

The event has traditionally eclipsed the show’s celebration of its anniversary, but this year, it will be delayed for just a few weeks. The noontime show notably marked its 13th year on air, last October 24.

Like in previous years, the hosts are re-shuffled to form five different groups. Each is to perform on a specific day, during the week of the competition. As it is announced, the Monday group consists of Jackie Gonzaga a.k.a. Ate Girl, Ion Perez, and Anne Curtis; the Tuesday group of Jhong Hilario and Ryan Bang; the Wednesday group of Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, and Kim Chiu; the Thursday group of Vice Ganda and Amy Perez; and last but not the least, the Friday group, which consists of Ogie Alcasid and Karylle Yuzon.

Last year, Kim, Karylle, and Amy Perez won the competition, with their “women empowerment’-inspired performance. The three female hosts are now distributed to various new groups.

The first Magpasikat was held in 2010, where the group consisting of Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz emerged victorious.  Teddy Corpuz and Jugs Jugueta won the competition, far more frequently than their fellow hosts, as they both belonged to the winning group five times since 2010.

With much of the pandemic restrictions already eased, and with the presence of a live studio audience, the competition is set to be a lot livelier than in the past two years. The competition is poised to bring out the talent and creativity of the host, but just like the past editions, the one that both touched the audience and had them on the edge of their seats, is most likely to win.

Who do you think it might be? Let’s find out, next week!
