Lady Gagita recounts her experience of getting bashed online

At the media conference of ‘Drag Den’ which LionhearTV covered on January 24, drag performer Lady Gagita recounted her experience getting bashed online.

Lady Gagita cited how bashers would often throw issues at her every episode of ‘Drag Den’. He said, “For me nga, is din ako sa mga contestants dito sa Drag Den na lahat-lahat binubully sa Twitter no. Na parang every episode, lagi silang may binabatong issue sa akin.”

Lady Gagita who is Vinzon Leojay Booc in real life asserted how he deals with these criticisms by focusing on the people who continue to support him. He said, “I guess the best way to move forward is you have to count your blessings. You have to count the number of people na naniniwala pa rin sayo and compare it to those people na ganito ‘yung ginagawa, na ng ba-bash sayo…Doon na lang ako mag-eexhert ng effort and energy, to those people who believe in me.”

As for taking a stand on political issues, Lady Gagita vowed to speak the truth.  He concluded, “Hindi naman talaga maiiwasan ang pressure, lalong-lalo na kung ‘yung country natin ay nahahati sa dalawang sides, and of course, there’s always the good side and there’s also the evil side, so nagkakaroon kami ng bashers online. However, siguro, ang pinaka ano ko na lang diyan ay we will just speak to the truth, ‘yun lang naman talaga.”

The first season of ‘Drag Den’ featured eight queens competing for the title ‘Drag Supreme’ with Naia, O-A, Maria Cristina, Aries Night, Barbie-Q, Shewarma, Pura Luka Vega, and Lady Gagita.

Shewarma, Maria Cristina, and Naia remained competing for the crown through national costumes, evening gowns, and their final lip sync performance of Sarah Geronimo’s Kilometro.

At the finale, the queens also answered a question asking about the qualities needed to become the first Drag Supreme in front of the show host Manila Luzon, with Nicole Cordoves and the other queens.

Naia won the title of Drag Supreme, taking home P1,000,000 worth of prizes.
