“Idol Philippines” season 2 third placer Kice and promising singer-songwriter CESCA rendered the official theme songs of ABS-CBN’s breakthrough revenge-drama series “Dirty Linen” top-billed by Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, Seth Fedelin, and Francine Diaz.
Kice performed the power ballad “Simulan,” which he first performed live at the “Dirty Linen” grand media conference. CESCA meanwhile gave a beautiful rendition of the song “Kung Makakapili Lang,” which accompanies kilig moments of the FranSeth tandem composed of Francine (Chiara) and Seth (Nico) in the series.
“Simulan” is a rock alternative track that talks about choosing love over life’s hardships and letting love heal everything. ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo, Star Pop label head Rox Santos, and Edmund Perlas composed the song.
“Kung Makakapili Lang” is about the great divide that lovers sometimes unluckily experience in relationships. It was also penned by Jonathan together with Kapamilya artist Trisha Denise.
A budding singer, songwriter, and actor, Kice rose to fame when he became a finalist on “Idol PH” season 2. He is also set to try his hand at acting through the upcoming series, “Linlang.”
CESCA, a visual and multimedia artist, first dabbled into music via her debut single “Lovesick (Pagmahalasakit)” which landed her on the cover and top spot of Spotify Philippines’ Fresh Finds playlist. She also released her second offering in 2022, “Pambihirang Harana” Which is a breezy song that captures the bittersweet feeling of confessing one’s feeling to someone she admires.
