On May 12, Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid admitted that Yassi Pressman was his first showbiz crush.
At the story conference for the upcoming Viva Films and GMA Pictures collaboration, which LionhearTV covered, Madrid explained that Pressman was the first female star he met during his time on GMA Network reality talent search competition ‘Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break’ in 2012, wherein they became dance partners.
Madrid shared, “Kasi si Yassi, ‘yung pinaka-unang-una kong ka-partner sa Protege, parang may ginawa kaming sayaw noon.”
He also listed the other Kapuso stars he considered his crush when he started in showbiz.
The actor revealed, “Lahat ng makita kong artista, nagiging crush ko, lahat like si Barbie, si Bea, Lexi Fernandez. So lahat talaga, pero si Yassi ang pinaka-una kong naka-trabaho kaya siya ‘yung una kong pinaka-naging crush.”
“Thank you,” Pressman replied to the revelation.
Madrid said he felt happy working with Pressman again after a decade.
He expressed, “Sobrang natuwa po ako na makakatrabaho ko si Yassi, kasi ‘yun nga sinabi nga ni Yassi, ten years ago po ‘yung last time na nagkita kami. Pero doon sa 10 years na ‘yun, nakita ko ‘yung growth ni Yassi as an actress, as a performer.”
He also confessed that he felt nervous about contacting Pressman when he started in showbiz.
The actor narrated, “Una sa social media ko lang siya lagi nakikita, pero minsan kapag nag-jo-jogging ako sa village niya, nakikita ko rin siya, pero nahihiya akong lumapit. Nakiki-village lang ako sa kanya, kasi ‘yung coach ko, taga village niya so doon ako nate-training, doon ako nagba-basketball, so lagi siyang nakikita doon pero nahihiya akong lumapit kasi iniisip ko, baka hindi na ako kilala ni Yassi.”
As for their upcoming film, the co-production between Viva Films and GMA Pictures, ‘Video City’ stars Ruru Madrid and Pressman.
The film follows ‘Han’ (Madrid), who travels back in time and arrives in 1995, meeting ‘Ningning’ (Pressman), a store staff at Video City.
Under Raynier Brizuela’s direction, ‘Video City’ will start filming soon.
